Cutlass Bearings for a 7/8" Shaft
We list two Exalto cutlass bearings for a 7/8" (22.23 mm) propeller shaft, both phenolic. They fit housing bores of 1-1/4" (31.75 mm) and 1-3/8" (34.93 mm), and both are 3-1/2" (88.9 mm) long. The nominal wall thickness, half the difference between housing bore and shaft, runs from 4.76 mm to 6.35 mm.
Both are in Australian stock, with same-day dispatch on orders placed by 2pm AEST on a business day. Each costs $160.00 including GST, and Express Post delivery within Australia is free.
A 22 mm (0.866") shaft is only 0.23 mm smaller, but its bearings are a different nominal size and are not interchangeable with these. Check which unit your shaft was made to before ordering, or see the bearings for a 22 mm shaft.

How to choose a bearing for a 7/8" shaft
Measure the housing bore and the length of the bearing you are replacing, then find that combination below. Bearings that share a housing bore and length differ in shell material, tolerances and availability.
- 1-1/4" (31.75 mm) housing, 3-1/2" (88.9 mm) long: phenolic IPSF07-1 (in stock, $160.00)
- 1-3/8" (34.93 mm) housing, 3-1/2" (88.9 mm) long: phenolic IPSF07 (in stock, $160.00)
Phenolic describes the outer shell, which has a grooved nitrile rubber lining. The non-metallic phenolic shell avoids galvanic corrosion between the shell and a metal housing. More about each: phenolic cutlass bearings.
Matching sizes is the first check, not the last: confirm the shell material, the housing's condition and the retention method for your boat. The measuring guide explains what to record, or contact us with your measurements.
